Companies reminded to file online
Bentleys Chartered Accountants of Bolton are warning that HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has issued a reminder to businesses about the forthcoming switch from paper company tax returns to online filing.
Mike Turner, partner from Bentleys, said “from 1 April 2011, all companies will have to file their company tax returns electronically, for any accounting period that ends after 31 March 2010.
“HMRC has announced that it will stop sending out blank paper return forms and guidance notes from 1 July 2010. Although it will still be possible to download these forms from the HMRC website, they must be returned before 1 April 2011. Companies should contact their accountant for further details.”
