Big Changes Affecting Payroll Clients
Bentleys are advising all their Sage payroll clients of impending major changes that will impact on their payroll software.
On 6 April 2009, HMRC will bring in a fourth National Insurance Contributions band, the Upper Accrual Point to Upper Earnings Threshold. Usually clients can change the values in their payroll software themselves. However, they will not be able to change the number of National Insurance bands in their payroll software manually.
Although Sage will send software updates to all SageCover and SageCover Extra clients to keep their software compliant, clients without SageCover will not be able to update their current payroll software themselves. Consequently, those using payroll software without SageCover will not be strictly 100% compliant.
